What to Do

Activities in the French Quarter

Nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River, the French Quarter is the beating heart of New Orleans, a neighborhood overflowing with incredible food, live music, rich history, and a one-of-a-kind energy you simply can't find anywhere else. We couldn't imagine a more perfect place to celebrate, and we can't wait for you to experience it for yourselves.

Here's a small sampling of the things you can do in the area.

EAT & DRINK

New Orleans is a city that takes its food seriously and the French Quarter delivers. Grab a café au lait and a warm beignet at the iconic Café Du Monde, just steps from Jackson Square. For a sit-down meal, Arnaud's and Brennan's are classic New Orleans dining experiences you won't forget. If you're looking for a more casual bite, Oceana Grill serves up incredible Creole fare around the clock. And of course, no trip to the Quarter is complete without a Hand Grenade or frozen daiquiri in hand as you stroll down Bourbon Street.

PLAY

There's never a dull moment in the French Quarter. Catch live jazz spilling out of the bars along Frenchmen Street any night of the week. If you're feeling lucky, Harrah's New Orleans Casino is just a short walk away. For a one-of-a-kind experience, hop on a steamboat cruise along the Mississippi River or take a ghost tour through the Quarter's famously haunted streets after dark.

EXPLORE

The French Quarter is as rich in history as it is in character. Start your morning with a stroll through Jackson Square, where local artists and fortune tellers set up along the iron fence of St. Louis Cathedral. Wander through the French Market for local crafts, spices, and souvenirs to bring home. Architecture lovers will want to take their time along Royal Street, lined with beautiful ironwork balconies and world-class antique shops. However you spend your time here, the city has a way of leaving its mark on you and we hope you fall in love with it just as much as we have.
